An immigrant family left a 23-month-old boy in the Vancouver airport and learned he was missing only when contacted during the next leg of the trip.

How does something like this happen? I’m sorry, but the excuse of the family members splitting up into different groups does NOT fly with me. You DON’T go more than ten feet without making sure that you can SEE your child safely secured in the arms of whatever family member he/she is assigned to. I don’t care if you’re checking your email on your Crackberry, booking Outer Banks rentals or picking a wedgie, you do NOT let your kid out of your sight like that! Poor kid… at least he was found and kept safe until the idiotic parents could be notified!

Apparently, there is some truth to the syndrome a lot of us pregnant women and mothers refer to as Mommy Brain. FYI, Mommy Brain is what causes many pregnant women and even moms to remember a lot of things, and usually everything regarding their children, but to forgot a lot of other things. Prime example? Since having kids, writing a grocery store list is a must. Otherwise, I’ll go to the store and leave with everything but what I went there for originally!

Anyway, the study found that the memory loss, which can be subtle but definitely persistent, affects many pregnant women and women up to a year or more postpartum. While the researchers don’t know what exactly causes Mommy Brain, the blame is being laid with hormonal changes and lifestyle changes.

Do you suffer from Mommy Brain?
