The other night Dan and I went out for dinner, and my mom babysat Alyssa and Ryan. The other night Alyssa came to Dan and I to show us a loose tooth -- one of the bottom front middle teeth. A few hours later she remarked that the one next to it felt loose as well, and sure enough, it was! I seriously cannot believe how easy it has been to potty-train Ryan -- as far as going #1, that is. #2 is an entirely different matter that is compounded by the fact that he often tries to "hold" his bowel movements, which results in -- sorry for the TMI -- ...Comments Off

The parenting gods must love me, because yesterday morning Dan quickly showed Alyssa how to tied her shoes. Since then she has successfully tied her shoes on her own, with no assistance or input, at least half of a dozen times. We have a new word in Ryan's vocabulary: cookie. That brings his total vocabulary to ten or so words:

dada
no
uh oh
ball
joo (milk, juice)

shoe

YES, he is as big as he looks! 35 lbs. or so, and probably 34" - 35" in length!
